• use a colour detergent or liquid detergent without optical brighteners
• no fabric softener – it coats the high-quality fibres, reduces breathability and impairs absorbency
• tumble dry on a gentle-dry programme (iron-damp) or prepare for hanging
• with the residual moisture the bed linen can be ironed especially easily
• do not mangle: this puts too much strain on both the zip and the cotton fabric – this is an important, often overlooked recommendation, especially with damask
