The Swiss manufacturer Schlossberg has been making duvets that stand for exceptional regeneration since 1959. At its Turbenthal site, products are created from the finest raw materials, traditional craftsmanship and climate-friendly production. Every duvet bears the label Swiss Made – a guarantee of the utmost care and long-lasting quality.

Schlossberg Duvets are filled exclusively with 100% white goose down top European quality. Thanks to the high-quality Box quilting an even distribution of warmth is created, supporting a pleasantly tempered sleeping climate. The box quilting also prevents the down from gradually sliding to the edges over time – a typical problem with inexpensive down duvets, in which the material appears thin in the middle and overfilled at the edges after a few years.

Suitable for allergy sufferers thanks to NOMITE certification

The cover of hydrophilic cotton batiste is breathable, ensures a dry sleeping sensation and is NOMITE certified – ideal for allergy sufferers, as house dust mites cannot penetrate the duvet. This means Schlossberg down duvets also meet the strict requirements that house dust allergy sufferers must place on their bedding.

Features and benefits of the Schlossberg Down Duvets

The large-flake down acts like a natural air conditioner: it insulates outstandingly, reliably keeps you warm in winter and prevents overheating in summer. Down is breathable, moisture-regulating and quickly releases excess moisture to its surroundings. This effect clearly distinguishes a genuine down duvet from synthetically filled duvets, where moisture can quickly lead to a humid sleeping climate.

• 3 warmth points: classic all-year duvet – perfect for an average sense of warmth

winter duvets

• 4 warmth points: warm winter duvet with high insulating capacity – ideal for cold bedrooms or a high warmth requirement

For couples with differing warmth needs, it is often worth purchasing two individual duvets, each in the appropriate warmth level – even when a shared double bed is used. That way each partner sleeps under the duvet that is ideal for them.

Which warmth level suits me?

A rule of thumb for guidance:

• Warm, well-heated bedroom or warm sleeper: 1 to 2 warmth points
• Average bedroom and average sense of warmth: 3 warmth levels as an all-year duvet
• Cool bedroom (e.g. an unheated attic room) or someone who feels the cold: 4 warmth points as a winter duvet, if needed supplemented by a lighter duvet for summer

Schlossberg duvets in many sizes

Single duvets – 135 x 200 to 155 x 220 cm

135 x 200 cm is the standard size in Germany. For people from about 175 cm tall, the comfort size is recommended 155 x 220 cm – it offers noticeably more freedom of movement and avoids the feeling of your feet slipping out from under the duvet.

Double duvets – 200 x 200 to 240 x 220 cm

Popular for couples are 200 x 200 cm, 200 x 220 cm or 240 x 220 cm. Special sizes are available on request – simply get in touch with us and we will check the feasibility together with the manufactory.

Care instructions – how often should a down duvet be washed?

All Schlossberg down duvets are washable in principle. What matters is regular care in everyday use: shake the duvet out in the morning, let it air well and air it outdoors on dry days. Vigorous beating or vacuuming should be avoided, so as not to damage the chambers and the down.

Washing instructions

• most duvets can be washed at 60 degrees on a gentle cycle – always observe the care label
• use special down detergent or pH-neutral shampoo
• avoid fabric softener at all costs – it clogs the down structure and permanently reduces the loft
• do not use chlorine bleach

Drying

Down duvets must dry through completely, ideally in the tumble dryer at up to 100 degrees. Two to three tennis balls or special dryer balls help to loosen up the down. During drying, the duvet should be shaken out roughly every 30 minutes to avoid clumping.

An annual wash is usually sufficient, since down has an antibacterial effect thanks to its natural film of oil. Anyone who airs it regularly and does not soil the duvet heavily can also wash at longer intervals.
